We drive through truly spectacular mountain scenery to the headwater of the
Maulu River ( about 1 ½ hrs ) , a splended and pristine river flowing through tropical rainforest in the heart of Toraja. After a short walk ( 30-40 min ) through remote villages and terraced rice fields, we start rafting.

Excellent class II - III rapids are interspersed with cool refreshing waterfalls and calm floats. Lunch is served on an isolated river-side beach.  This really is a wonderful stretch of river.
